My thoughts on Stuart Scott

Thanks Stuart,
for being who you are.

Stuart was a young man that was fairly close to my brother and his family. Through that connection I met him, talked with him and briefly hung out with him a couple of times.

There are several things that resonate within me at hearing of his transitioning ……

First and foremost …. his humble spirit always seemed to be center stage with him. It was who he was and the reflection of his inner light pierced the darkness and served as a beacon.

Second ….. as a bonafide superstar – he was just a plain guy. No sense of entitlement, nothing where he wanted to be special …. just a guy you would love to have at your cook-out.

Lastly …. that life is so very special. Stuart loved his family and appreciated each moment he had with them, especially his daughters.

Forty-nine is still so very young. It seems so premature for one to depart and make that long journey that we all must make. The reality is, when you have completed your earthly assignments you will be summoned home.

Each of us needs to make sure we’ve reached out to those that need to know what is within our hearts ….
We need to be at peace and leave nothing unsaid to those that have touched and guided us ……
We need to ensure that our spirit is at peace with those that have shown us love.

From,
Someone you treated better than I deserved.
